REMARK: Sometimes we receive e-mail from you and our response does not reach you. Your ISP sends us a message that the addressee does "not like" us or we "are not your customer". Should you not receive answer to your inquiry, please contact our local leader or our headquarters from another account or just call 630-624-MATH (6284) in evenings or on weekends. We are always ready to answer your questions.

  • Can we have Math Kangaroo at our school?
    Yes! Just view the rules and contact our headquarters.
  • What is the responsibility of the hosting school/organization/church?
  • to devote about 2 hours on the Kangaroo Day in the afternoon or evening (the test lasts 75 minutes);
    to inform students that registration takes place on Internet or by mail with our fliers;
    to receive the competition material for each registered student (we send the material in advance);
    to make sure the students work independently in the designated time;
    to mail the answer forms on Friday after the test, back to the Kangaroo Center in Lisle, IL (the questions stay with the participants);
    to receive and distribute diplomas and prizes in May.
  • Why students like to participate:
  • Certificates of Participation for all participants;
    Math Kangaroo in USA t-shirts for all participants;
    Some souvenirs/prizes for all participants ;
    Certificates of Excellence and prizes for the top winners: about 20-25% of all the participants.
  • How can my student get prepared to Math Kangaroo next edition?
    Please see our page with past Math Kangaroo problems. They contain links to many interesting sites as well. If Kangaroo problems seem to be too hard, contact us about the solutions.
  • Our school is not interested in hosting Math Kangaroo. Where can my student participate in the competition?
    Please visit Our Team page and contact our leader in your area. You will be allowed to enroll your student for any of our locations. If no location is close to your place, talk to your PTA, your parish, your Park District and arrange home for Math Kangaroo in your neighborhood.
  • What is the cost of participation in Math Kangaroo in USA?
    The participation fee for Math Kangaroo 2007was $20 for a student. Parents pay the fee, sometimes schools, or local sponsors. Please, be assured that all money from the participation fee is spent on awards and on preparing of the competition. We are a not-for-profit organization with 501(c)3 status.
  • What should I do, if I have more questions?
    Please send all your questions and comments to info@mathkangaroo.org. Your concerns will be addressed promptly.
